Good accomodation, bad host Positive: Accommodation is nice, location good. Negative: Host did not honour the booking. Made me pay extra service charge, cleaning fee and eventually threatened to cancel my booking last minute during peak season where all other accommodations are fully booked. Edit: Let's call a spade a spade. Asking your guest to pay an additional $494 (eventually reduced to $300) or have the reservation cancelled during peak period is not honoring the booking. It doesn't matter if the rate was below holiday rate or not. The host should have resolved this with Booking.com since it wasn't the guest's fault but instead threatened to cancel the booking less than 1 month before the stay which would have left me and my family no place to stay during a travel season where all other accommodations across multiple platforms have sold out. To show I am not making this up, I have left a google review on this accommodation with the conversation logs attached since Booking.com does not allow for attachments in reviews. Other users can decide for themselves if this is justified or not.
